Requires 2 AA batteries (not included) Reader Reviews This bank is very well made - the display is large, clear, high contrast, and viewable from any angle. You have to give the coins a firm push, but the mechanism feels nice and solid. After you insert each coin the display briefly flashes the value of the coin you just inserted, then returns to displaying the sum. The lid and jar are rugged and well made. I tested a number of coins - $1s, quarter, pennies, nickels, dimes and all were counted correctly. Uses 2 AA batteries, not included. The underside of the lid has a reset button and battery compartment. It takes a small screwdriver to change the batteries.
