I didn't want to hassle with a wooden standing easel and these are a good alternative. The paper is thick enough to stand full saturation with tempra paints, no bleed through to underlying paper. I saved the cardboard easel when all the paper was used up and using heavy duty paper clasps - clip paper from regular pads purchased locally onto the cardboard easel and that works fine to.
